Our Mission
A Time to Dance Junior Company
is very excited to be in our 11th year at A Time to Dance Studio! The company is a pre-professional, ballet-based, youth dance program designed to give more class time and performance opportunities for those seeking it. It provides students with the skills needed to pursue dance after graduation, dance at the collegiate level alongside other studies, and/or to seek to accomplish their best level of achievement in ballet and dance during their youth. It is not solely for dancing post-graduation but also to allow for greater achievement in ballet and dance--though many have the option to dance after graduation if desired.
Company members are admitted through an annual spring audition. Dancers in company are expected to have exemplary attendance and work ethic. Practice and development should take place outside of class time as well as within. Being a company member is a larger time commitment and requires dedication and discipline. The program gradually builds dancers to take on more focus on ballet, increased dancing time, thorough ballet knowledge, and greater performance responsibility. Our Company Apprentices spend time working alongside Company Members along with their own dedicated class time to progress their skills. Pre-company is a preparatory level offered to our younger and/or less experienced dancers to set them on track for company in the future by providing more ballet class time and performance experience. Students may begin as Pre-Company members and work toward becoming a Company Apprentice and Company Member as they grow.
